Half a century of Argentinean history as seen by retired colonel Horacio P. Ballester, based on his personal experiences at the core of the argentinean military (whose reputation has been repeatedly hurt by taking over the government and showing little concern for human rights). With irony and humor mellowing out sheer criticism, the author proposes a new ethic -opposed to bureaucracy and the aforementioned `traditions- for this institution.
